I've heard of the whole pineapple thing and actually researched this at one point last year. Instead of eating pineapple everyday, you can buy yourself a bottle of bromelain pills. It is an protein extract derived from pineapples and while I only took it here and there, I have found a number of people who swear by it and indicate that it does indeed work.
