Buddhism: Anyone familiar with its teachings?

I personally believe it shows no discrimination against homosexuals. Is it true?

How much I know (and it is not much) the teaching of buddhism transcend beyond sexualism and are incorporative of all sentient life. Their teaching about love includes every living being be it plants or animals, so I think by that Lord Gautama Buddha didn't mean it in a sexual manner. They have something called "Dharamchakra", a Noble-Eightfold Path of Life which tells us about the truths of life. These truths are about sufferings, their origins, their cessation (termination) and going beyond these sufferings.
On an informal note, I have few friends who are buddhists, when I asked the about it they said it is a religion just like others as orthodox and stringent as one wants it to be (They were kind of very easy going and lenient about the practices). They said that their are people who sacrifice everything for the path (which I think is the case of all religions) and also their are people like them who don't care much about the religion in general. -
