Hi
They suck. They make me limp, they make my lips, my fingers, my toes (and my other lips) go blue. Is there any way to get hold of any good brands or old school ones in the UK? I am fairly sure the old ones weren't killing me, so banning them seems a little harsh. Couldn't I at least get a token every few months from the government to keep me on the straight an narrow and not overdo things!
An ideas?

Have you tried ordering online? that's how my friend gets his favorite brand.. I'd just look up the laws in your country before doing so, I think the UK might be a little more strict and it is "importation of a substance" so be careful..

The original poppers were amyl nitrite, used to treat angina and, strangely, cyanide poisoning. When the powers that be determined that people were using them for fun, a number of jurisdictions made them "prescription only". Isobutyl nitrite was often used in place of amyl nitrite, but various authorities started catching on to that too and restricting the sale or production. That's why most poppers were sold as "liquid incense", "leather cleaner", or "video head cleaner". Recently, here in Canada, it was made illegal to sell, but it's ok to manufacture for export. The nanny-state makes little sense on any level.
As the dance between poppers enthusiasts and poppers prohibitionists continues, a number of others in the family of alkyl nitrites were sold as "poppers". The common wisdom is that these other alkyl nitrites are less enjoyable and cause the nasty side effects like really bad headaches and so on. I'm told that the "real" alkyl nitrite and the isobutyl nitrite produce the desired effect without the undesirable side effects. I'm not a connoisseur, but when I do indulge, I've been pleased with the Jungle Juice brand. Just beware of counterfeiters!
I've been told by a number of people that the following website is fairly reputable: http://buypoppers.net/ At least they seem to say the right things. Friends have purchased from them and reported favourably. My only problem with them is that they only seem to sell the 10 ml size and not the 30 ml. What can I say? I'm cheap and I like to buy in bulk! LOL!!
If you have patience, time, and a little bit of chemistry knowledge, the synthesis of isobutyl nitrite is relatively simple. Search YouTube and you should find two or three different videos showing the process.

If my experiences with fake weed are anything like yours with poppers, you may want to quit while you're ahead. Analogues will always work worse than the original, and have more undesirable side effects.

I've read about them, but have never used them. Been too afraid of what type of reaction I might have to them.
