I wish they'd just stop having actual acting in porn. It's always so laughably bad that it can even ruin the mood for me. I get that not every director wants to do the gonzo thing, but you can show scenes without horrible dialogue. Of course, the worst ones are where one of the guys pretends to be straight. Really stupid and unnecessary.

…I have a definitely low standard when it comes to acting in porn, but yeah there's some definitely bad acting even there. It takes the enjoyment sort of.
Try to watch a gay romance film to notice the (BIG) difference.
Even more disappointing is if the guys look hot.

I'm more bothered with sex scenes that are bad. Like, no one is enjoying anything or feeling much of anything, I might as well be watching two blow-up dolls.

Now with the advent of point and click I don't see any of the 'acting' or plot details, just skip to someone face down and then onto the next one.

This may be sort of off-topic, but what I hate worse than poor acting is when the top dude can't even keep a woody. :blink: What a turn-off… Is this a general opinion or just me? ;D don't worry, it's nice to see someone so passionate about a matter, that they have to sign up in a forum to share it with the rest of us. Ehehe
I guess novices in the porn scene get nervous, and unlike the more experienced ones, they don't take something to prevent the overcooked spaghetti effect :cheesy2:As for the matter in discussion, I've lived for a while in South Beach, which has plenty of male models and actors wannabe, who while waiting for a break, keep waiting at the tables. And end up working in porn. I guess it's the same in many other "good looking dudes cities". You would think they'd do a better job at acting, and there you have why they can't find a job as mainstream actors

The only good thing about bad acting in a porn is that the directors are sensible enough to get to the point (sex) as fast as possible.
And as Valicore said, bad sex scenes are the unforgivable thing. I remember seeing a porn with Barrett Long and the dude was just horrible. Since then I just avoid any porn that has scenes of him.
