              I love classical music

my favourite is probably not "classical " per say
              but is Delius.

This thread is a very broad church, all are welcome. But I think Delius would fall into anyone's 'classical' definition. That is for music, not the period πŸ™‚

Classical can mean different things according to context. It certainly means different things in a Greek or Roman context, or in a Carnatic or Hindustani context, for instance. As cannonmc says, Delius is certainly within the purview of what most people would consider classical music.Β  Am actually listening to (and playing) quite a deal of Rachmaninov lately. This is my slight obsession of the moment:

But am actually listening to this piece atm :

I like classical music. I'm just getting into it now, though, really.

Well, I loved Tori Amos's album with classical music. Thanks to that, I like some of Satie's work.

But I listen to Max Richter. Not classical, but neoclassical πŸ˜›

Old and Lost Rivers, Tobias Picker

This was played on BBC Radio3 this morning. I thought it was lovely.

American composer, born 1954. I'm now going to listen to more of him
