Who still play pokemon here?

Filled my Pokedex. Arranged them all in the PC so I know I have one of each to transfer to next game. Slaughtered the Battle Maison. My friends stand no chance of winning so they don't play with me unless I play with a handicap. Online competitions aren't arranged so I can enjoy them, and a paycheck, and an attempt to evolve from bear to otter…

I still do, and I'll never quit, I know that, basically, is always the same game, but I want to fill my pokedex, all of them

The only Pokemon game I've ever played was Emerald on the GBA. It was pretty good. Are the games still like this gameplay-wise or have they changed a lot?

gameplay-wise it's pretty much the same. but there have been many changes too (e.g. mega-pokemons, ev training is so much easier, etc)

If you look at the main story, and the main game, it is almost exactly the same. Although they eventually introduced wifi (Diamond/Pearl/Platinum–the next series from what you played) and now there's a broad competitive field that is almost completely different except in concept. Some people think that the competitive feature kills the game because there's such a wide variety of variables that some see it like work and unless you have a thing for legendaries or pseudolegendaries you probably won't get to use your favorites, but some think it gives more value in that it adds a strategy aspect and offers bragging rights.

I don't have any cards nor play with anyone else's, but I do play the Pokemon games on Gameboy emulator on my PC, like the old Fire Red/Leaf Green or Emerald/Ruby/Sapphire series or the Gold/Silver ones.

I stopped after B2W2. The hassle of transfering Pokemons between generations and the closing of the GTC made keeping up harder.
Besides, competitive battling, while fun also had its downturns…Like battling someone else through WiFi and when you give the finishing blow they would disconnect on purpouse, how I hated that ><
Not to mention Smogon's metagame and the pain of breeding the perfect IV pokemon...I decided to use AR to get IV's and Hidden Powers easily (just that, not illegal moves or values) or get special event pokemon I wasn't able to get due to the promotions ending. But since the newer iterations have stopped working with that I'm not so keen on continuing.
Still...Pokemon has been one of the games I have enjoyed the most.

I really got into X and Y and got AS as soon as it was available but never got into it, ive played about 2 hours on it. Just picked up my 3ds and started Y again a few days ago but ive basically cheated and traded a perfect IV and EV trained squad. I've already been wrecking everything on there ;D
