Before breast implants and other tools of transgender change came about, it was common to hear of enraged Marines and others beating up and sometimes killing their oriental sex partners, once they realized the "she" they wanted to screw was really a "he."
It's hard to imagine, in the case of PFC Joseph Scott Pemberton, that he didn't know exactly what he was "getting into" (pardon the pun), when he steadily walked, arm-in-arm with his date (according to the surveillance camera film our CI's have seen) at the seedy Olongapo hotel where Jennifer Laude was brutally slain.
DID MARINE KNOW SHE WAS A TRANNY?
JENNIFER LAUDEThe bosomy, 26 year-old, ultra-feminine victim was found dead in a toilet after her head had been shoved into the commode bowl.
On the floor were two used condoms, currently being tested by investigators for DNA, that could lead back to Pemberton, who is being held by American authorities aboard the USS Peleliu. The vessel was supposed to have left Olongapo by now, but has been held there, pending outcome of a police investigation.
Our sources on the ground tell us several things indicate Pemberton knew he was getting a transgender partner and wasn't duped or "drunk" at the time of the slaying.
HAD SEX PRIOR TO THE SLAYING
"First of all, the security cameras show him walking arm-in-arm with Jennifer Laude as they went into a room in the hot sheet hotel," our CI said. "When the Marine private emerged half an hour later, he left behind the dead tranny and evidence that the two had had sex prior to her death."
Sources say that indicates Pemberton was able to attain and keep an erection, even after he had to have seen Laude's "downstairs'" genitalia. If that had angered or shocked him, why not make a fuss or walk out? Hotel employees said "no unusual sounds" emitted from the room prior to the Marine's departure..
WAS GRUNT "SELF-LOATHING HOMOSEXUAL?"
Filipino investigators believe Pemberton is a self-loathing homosexual, willing to use, and then dispose of (via murder), a human being he considered to be trash.
Will the local citizenry get their demand that Pemberton be handed over to a court in Olongapo? Not likely.
Chances are the Marine will either receive a slap-on-the-wrist by American authorities, while getting "high-fives" from his homophobic buddies aboard the U.S. Navy ship, or incite a long, diplomatic stand-off between the U.S. Embassy and Philippine Government.
Either way, it will end ugly.

I've read a lot about this case and the "I was duped" excuse is a lie. At least that's how it seems to me.
Either way, I do agree with this article that he will only get a slap on the wrist from the US military and won't face trial in the Philippines. The US and Philippines have had an extremely rocky relationship over the decades. Neither side really give out "normal" punishments for doing illegal things to the other side's people.
