      @Popper:

I get as well only one result.

Could you please copy the URL of the search result here?

Here's the result I get when I type "so you think you can fuck" with only torrent name checked.
      https://www.gaytor.rent/browse.php?search=so+you+think+you+can+fuck&incldead=1&inname=1&orderby=added&sort=desc

I also tried to upload another torrent today. I spent about 15~20 minutes trying to see if there is the exact same torrent here by searching with different words names of guys, etc. I uploaded it after I was sure there's no duplicate here, but a little after that, the torrent was deleted because they confirmed it was a duplicate…  😕 I never used to have this problem, but now it's just getting so frustrating.

Without quotes your results will be any torrent with the words
        so…or
        you...or
        think...or
        can...or
        fuck

        In the torrent name.

Also remember to check the torrent description and the file name. There is no fool proof system for finding if a torrent wold be a duplicate, but I find searching on the actors/models names more helpful than searching on the title of a movie, unless I receive nothing back in a search.

No, LEVI and yes canonmc all those strings must be contained somewhere in the torrent name, but not the exact words and in that order.

            To explain a little:
"Fucking solo young and thinking can be bad" would match that search, because: "Fucking solo young and thinking can be bad" got all these strings.

What you are saying is all the words or should I say letter combinations have to be present to return a result. As in this example.

so you think you can fuck, each letter combination so…you...think...can...fuck would have to be present in the torrent name, since that is what the search on based on, for a result to be returned. However, with quotes it would have to return an exact match to what was inside the quotes.

Thanks guys. Yeah, I usually search by all title, actors' names, studio, etc. I've also tried to search by file names and description.

Beside my first thread, a problem I had for uploading another torrent earlier today was I tried to upload "Biaggi Videos - Antonio Biaggi and Owen Powers" and I tried these combinations in the search box,

Biaggi Videos Antonio Biaggi and Owen Powers
"Biaggi Videos" Antonio Biaggi and Owen Powers
"Biaggi Videos" "Antonio Biaggi" "Owen Powers"
                "Biaggi Videos" Antonio Owen
                "Antonio Biaggi" "Owen Powers"

and more with torrent name, description, and file name, but none showed up. So I uploaded the video and I got a message saying that I've uploaded a duplicate.

Here is my results on Antonio Biaggi and Owen Powers checking the torrent name, file name and file description, including dead torrents.

                  Antonio Biaggi and Owen Powers

As you can see the search returned nothing.

Now, I know better. I searched again just using Antonio Biaggi with these search results

As you can see the sixth one down is the torrent I would be looking for. They used & instead of and. Sometimes it is better to search with less and just look at all the results than trying to hit the bullseye.

When you got the duplicate message then provided a link to the original torrent. I would take a look at the original and see what caused your search results.

Now the interesting part when I search for Antonio Biaggi Owen Powers I received these results

From my understanding the search excludes the word and unless it is inside quotes. Meaning shouldn't my first search have turned up the same as the third search?

Yes, you are right about letter combinations (that is why I used "strings" and not "words").

The search doesn't omit the word and
Quotes for exact expression don't work either.

In the given example, I'd had searched in this order:
                    "Antonio Biaggi Owen Powers"
                    "Antonio Owen"
                    "Biaggi"
                    all without the quotes.

You know I thought we just talked about the search function, but the only thread I can come up with is "How To: Search For a Duplicate Torrent Before Uploading a New Torrent."

Post 12 is dated on 27/12/14. Is that the most current?

No. Actually that was about a search version reverted back to the behaviour described in the original post of that topic.

I've removed that last post, as it was misleading, now.

Well, it sounds like it should have showed up like your search. I have no idea why it didn't when I tried it.  :-
But thanks for the duplicate torrent search link, LEVI. I'll look into that again.

Yes, the search function IS broken. If I search on a title or anything other than a single word, up will come a zillion responses. If I search all over again asking only for Torrent Name, the same useless result will occur. If I then try by putting the same search term in quotation marks, the same zillion responses will return. Apparently it does NOT filter for Torrent Name Only. Try it youself.

Can someone please fix this problem?

Sorry, i can't reproduce what you are saying…
If I search for "so you think you can fuck" without the quotes in torrent name, I get two results only
If I search for "so you think you can fuck" without the quotes in both torrent name and torrent description, I get nearly 1300 results. That is correct, because "so", "you", "can", "think" and "fuck" are rather common words & strings being present in many descriptions' texts

Sorry, but Search IS broken for sure. Try to read this topic, he tells the core of the problem: https://community.gaytor.rent/index.php?topic=28289.msg136726#msg136726
In my case my search was set to "Torrent Name", "Torrent Description" by default in my profile. And no matter what do I check in the Search it appears at least like "Torrent Description" is always ON.
                                Try it for yourself.

                                1. In your profile check (Default value for "Search in Torrent Description") , save it.
                                2. Now go to Search page, Uncheck "Torrent Description", check "Torrent Name"
                                3. Try to Search for "Wide Strokes" (without quotes).
You'll get a ton of results, but none of it has "Wide strokes" in its name.

To avoid this bug - UNCHECK every (Default value for "Search in ….") in your Profile. But you should check desired category everytime you want to search for something.
Or wait when the Search will be fixed.

Another difference since the last upgrade is that using a hyphen to exclude a word no longer works.  Instead of excluding only torrents with that word, it excludes ALL torrents.  Try it with something like -collection if you want to test it. It appears the latest upgrade doesn't want us to use GREP expressions any longer.
