Canada porn star pleads not guilty to murder

Canadian porn star Luka Magnotta admitted yesterday to killing his Chinese boyfriend but pleaded not guilty to five charges related to his death including murder.
On the first day of his trial in Montreal, Magnotta's lawyers said he was mentally ill and jurors would have to determine his state of mind.
He faces life inprisonment if convicted of all charges.
Magnotta, 32, posted a video online of him killing Jun Lin, 33, a computer science student at Concordia University.
Prosecutor Louis Bouthillier said a 2011 email from Magnotta to a journalist showed that he planned to kill someone and film it six months before Lin's death.
Defense lawyer Luc Leclair said Magnotta had seen different psychiatrists for years and was diagnosed with borderline personality disorder and schizophrenia.
A police investigation began after a headless torso was found near Magnotta's home in May 2012.
Magnotta posted Lin's limbs to the offices of Prime Minister Stephen Harper and the Liberal Party and two elementary schools in British Columbia.
Lin's head was found in a Montreal park.
Magnotta fled to Europe and was arrested at a Berlin internet cafe while reading news about himself.
The trial was delayed due to a busy court schedule and difficulties finding bilingual jurors. Nearly 1,600 people were interviewed to fill the 14-person jury which includes two alternates.
Magnotta is charged with first-degree murder, committing an indignity to a body, publishing obscene material, mailing obscene material and criminally harassing Harper and other members of parliament.
Lin's tearful father, Diran Lin, flew from China to attend the trial.

I actually saw the video and I can clearly state that life imprisonment isn't enough in this case. It's not so much that he killed that boy, but rather how much he enjoyed it that is truly disturbing. I usually don't support the death penalty, but in this case I'd really prefer a world without that man in it.
