(wow this looks like necroposting) Yaoi, BL and shota are drawn gay comics, gay love stories, and simulated child porn (in that order) from the very closeted nation of Japan. Then there's "Bara" which tends to have way less internalized homophobia and involves much less slim bodystyles. It's more comparable to drawn porn of buff or somewhat fat adult men. I can only really recommend bara out of those and even that pales in comparison to art from anywhere else. People in Japan are really stuck in decades old stereotypes and internalized homophobia and can't write normal gay relationships a bit.
