Am I the only gay guy who likes bands like Dokken, Cinderella , Poison and Steelheart ? Why are we expected to love Madonna and only Madonna ?

Madonna did some really good stuff, but she's not "end all, be all" of music.
From your list, I like Poison. I also like KISS, Def Lepard and several others from that period. I think that metal music turns gays off since most of the bands are/were homophobic. The only exceptions to that rule that I can think of are KISS, Def Lepard and Tommy Lee of Mötley Crüe.
My music tastes are too vast to list even a fraction of who I like. I like examples from all music genres.

I understand what you mean, I like bands such as Sepultura, Fleshgod Apocalypse, Nile, Testament, Overkill etc. Guess how many gay people I have met that like them? hah!

I like a lot of music , gay or not gay, metal or pop, for me, it's only music: Beastie Boys, The selecter, Manowar, Sepultura, Paradise Lost, REM, Depeche Mode, The Clash, G.B.H, The Doors, Radiohead, Iron Maiden, Helloween, 2 Unlimited, Pet Shop Boys, etc.

I love melodic death metal and bands such as Amon Amarth, Cormorant, Cult of Luna, In Flames or Vomitory. Madonna is not my cup of tea.

I love most of the music from the 80s. Metal and hard rock too. Loved the Skid Row, Motley Creu, Poison.
I still listen to some metal today like Angra and Dream Theater.
But I don't dislike some Madonna from time to time… -

I like 80s metal…
Pat Benatar, Loverboy, Poison, Motley Crue, Bon Jovi, Twisted Sisters, Aerosmith, Joan Jett, Alice Cooper, Krokus and others... Madonna is cool too but because we are gay we don't have to love her...

I like all kinds of 80's metal… but not any of those bands you listed.
Pretty much everything but the "glam" and "hair" metal bands is good in my book… I do think Motley Crue's first album is very good, though. -
