A few years ago I rapidly went from 160 to 200 and realized that what needed to occur is not only a choice to gain in mass but a decision to become stronger.  I know its sounds convoluted but trust me gurl its gold.eating more is only part of it.  You need to decide I will be bigger and stronger then you must lift more than you think you are capable of at the gym. Gotta get strong. Gotta be strong. You change your thinking and your body will respond.  Not only with size but with hunger. Then the protein shakes will make sense. Keep in mind that your body will respond differently than everyone else's. Personally in 3 years I put on 60 pounds but I'm 6 foot. Diet is a great part of all of this so remember that this isn't a whim you are enacting but  lifestyle change. You are going to eat better and train harder. And in the end accomplish your goals whatever they may be.</p>

I second that with going to gym to develop muscle.<br />
Maybe try to eat smaller portions and divide them up like 5 meals a day. The latter helped me to gain some weight. I'm still thin but at least not dangerous thin anymore.</p>

<p dir="auto">Don't ignore the other types of food though, otherwise you will regret it (bloating, constipation, smelly poohs, etc).</p>
<p dir="auto">Personally, I'd rather be tone than "big".  I do mostly a lot of reps with medium weight, rather than a few reps with a lot of weight.</p>
