Always back up your files or copy in a separate external drive w/c are cheaper nowadays or in network ...
To avoid losing data before formatting disk upon permanent deletion ...

If you overwrite the deleted data again you just make it less likely that you can recover it.

I was careless and rushed when cleaning up my system recently, and deleted the entire partition on one of my drives. Panic ensued as I obviously thought that was it since deleting a partition is usually more permanent than simply deleting the files. FEAR NOT! I looked around and found a little program called "Disk Drill" from Cleverfiles. Ran it and managed to recover virtually everything form the deleted partition.

Forget the free version as you can't really do anything with it, but I managed to find the full version on another torrent site and it worked like a charm. Have a hunt around and see if you can find a copy.

You will need to download all again and it will consume your ratio. And let's just forget that some torrents have already died or been deleted, so...
