NYT calls him "right wing", but term is loaded.

https://www.nytimes.com/2024/09/05/world/europe/france-prime-minister-barnier-macron.html

Sometimes - like with AfD, or President Trump - libs say Right Wing to mean, "centrist - who threatens us libs - so we call them names."

Other times - like here with Michel Barnier, or USA-RINO types - libs say Right Wing to mean, "centrist - who serves us libs, wink wink - so we prop them up."

Real story here is: Macron ignored election outcome.

Left alliance came in first. Far Left really - except they want peace, they oppose France involvement in Ukraine. Macron can't have that.

Right alliance headed by Marine LePen, same position on Ukraine, posted very strong second.

Macron, who is deeply unpopular & rejected, ruled out both.

No democracy for you, French peasants!!!

Barnier was in 4th place.

“The election was stolen,” Jean-Luc Mélenchon, the founder of the hard-left France Unbowed party, which is part of the New Popular Front, said in a televised speech.
