Well, there have been a lot of bizarre beliefs that have spread throughout Africa over the years.

There was one that witches could steal their penises.

A lot of muslims and Africans believe that they can die from "sexual emergencies" so rape is justified. Even western courts have not convicted them because they believe they were saving their own lives.

But - gotta say - to me, it smells like the kind of B.S. that BBC invents & spreads - as coverup to some far different story, that BBC would rather avoid.
