<![CDATA[Facebook activity mystery]]>Friend of mine shows up as being online dozens of times per day, sometimes for just a minute sometimes for about an hour.

He does not seem to be viewing Facebook, even though his icon shows that he has facebook open.

What would cause this phenomenon?

The best explanation I can think of so far is that maybe he has Facebook installed on his phone, and everytime his phone is not dormant, Facebook automatically goes active.

That would probably mean... that every time someone gets a phone call (such as the 50 telemarketer calls I get every day), they pop up as being active on Facebook.

99% of the calls I get want to either:
cremate me
buy my house
extend warranty on my car
sell me insurance
install solar panels
sign me up for healthcare

for some reason, I do not get them trying to sell me medications anymore
