But even Ted Lieu, extremist liar & quasi-commie, can't stand it:

I support gun safety laws. However, this order from the Governor of New Mexico violates the U.S. Constitution. No state in the union can suspend the federal Constitution. There is no such thing as a state public health emergency exception to the U.S. Constitution.

Then again.... libs forgot it all during covid.........at State level, libs ordered those long home imprisonments & other violations of people's bodies. It's a bit weird that any libs should remember USA Constitution suddenly, now. Something's up?

In a letter sent to New Mexico Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham on Tuesday, state Attorney General Raul Torrez said that his office would not be defending her administration in lawsuits related to her blocking the carrying of firearms.

"I am writing to inform you that my office will not defend your administration in the above referenced cases challenging the Public Health Emergency Order Imposing Temporary Firearm Restrictions, Drug Monitoring and Other Public Safety Measures 9the Emergency Order) issued by the Secretary of Health on September 8, 2023," the letter stated.

"Though I recognize my statutory obligation as New Mexico’s chief legal officer to defend state officials when they are sued in their official capacity, my duty to uphold and defend the constitutional rights of every citizen takes precedence."

It contradicts the libs' loved of central power - but libs aren't about consistency.

Elsewhere I've seen wild speculation about a crisis coming, where libs could lose control of USA central government. They may want to dry-run some State power-narratives "just in case", measure people's resistance etc. And only some lib drones are given the memo from Party Central.

There's a guy in that thread repeatedly claiming that the US Constitution does not apply to the states.
