Sounds like martial law dropped from sky. No. Its a choice, always temporary, usually to put down internal rebellion.

In effect, Zelensky / his masters say "We rule and we'll suspend democracy until we can be 100% sure it will go our way."

Which is hostage-taking not democracy.

Even UK & USA never suspend elections in wartime.

Lincoln nearly lost 1864 wartime election, while Churchill did lose 1945 wartime election.

If no honest election where war leader yes COULD lose - It isn't democracy.

Ukraine isn't. War there is a fight between 2 corrupt oligarchies, 2 dictators equally criminal.

(Or 3 if you count USSA. USA "leader", already criminal escaping justice, arrests his opposition leader also. Pathetic.)

Is Zelensky scared? The "lost" eastern territories are only Russia-loving traitors of Crimea & Donbas... surely Z wins even better with them gone, remaining voters in loyal Ukrainian oblasts.

If any Ukraine constitution or law changes are needed, Zelensky has plenty of time to do them. No democracy supporter could object.
