Vanishing torrents ...

@Rotron this happened to me! and then someone else is seeding the torrent but not getting it taken down...
-
@knoxguy89 Oh? That's new. Most probable is that the uploader is not aware that there was already the same title uploaded and got removed. Keep tabs on it and give us an update if it ever got removed too. Thanks!
-
To be honest, what can also happen is, it gets uploaded here, a few people snatched, it gets taken down, it gets uploaded to another torrent or site to share files, someone comes back here and sees its not up so tries to get ratio.
Since we know there's an issue with these excessive takedowns that aren't about whats IN the file, just that it is being uploaded, you aren't necessarily doing anything wrong in the upload, just that as this thread is describing there are excessive takedowns with incredibly inconsistent timing and inconsistent reporting.
-
@krad3434 just annoying that it hit like 4 of my recent torrents

Inconsistent reporting is the key. I think the site takes down all and only those torrents that are claimed by copyright owners. There's at least one torrent on this site from a studio that is very diligent about asking for takedowns, but the studio hasn't found that torrent because the studio name isn't mentioned anywhere in the title, description, or file names. (No, I'm not going to identify the torrent here.) If there's no takedown request on that torrent, it will very likely stay posted.

Has anyone else had freeleech torrents disappearing right in front of their eyes? When browsing the freeleech torrents, the first few torrents I click on disappear when I try to download the torrent file. Today that included "BigDaddy.com - Strong Men Fucking" and "HAR - Stephen Harte and Tonny DaRimma." When I refreshed the search, the number of freeleech torrents under my search filters dropped from 312 to 277. I've never had this happen before.
-
@roto13 People in thread are saying some older files are being taken down when bumped for freeleech but keep in mind, some of those may be simply having expiring free leech times. Try to browse by free leech time remaining to see which come and go from it.
-
@eobox91103
There are PLENTY of studios that are very on top of the removal of their files, the issue is, those are known and fairly consistent. I can think of at least one per non fansite category that is very much grab if you see it, on occasion the uploader will often warn as much in the description.A key thing is, it's only during times like now with the excessive takedowns these are identified and removed within the hour. Fish and Chips lads (using a coded name lol) is one of the notoriously aggressive sites and even their things don't get taken down at this speed.
-
@krad3434 Nah, these are torrents with lots of time left on Freeleech. It's also weird for 35 torrents to expire from Freeleech over the course of a few minutes. These torrents are also just disappearing from the site entirely, not just from Freeleech. I looked for them.
-
Yeah this definitely sucks and seems worse than last year because not only are new things being snatched but some hard to find things are now being removed because someones being allowed to go on a takedown joyride.
-
I guess our friend does not discriminate. Someone uploaded straight content from an OF account this morning and that was eventually removed. Looks like the OP is seeding but it's not downloading for me unfortunately

-
For what it's worth, the freeleech torrents are particularly vulnerable. Huge clumps of them vanish, and have been for weeks. They're not DMCA takedowns, because they cover every possible category (and things that are regularly removed for DMCA are often left standing). It's almost like some infiltrator from another site has been made an admin here, and he's sabotaging the site. Just look at this list of deleted freeleech torrents, all set for freeleech to expire on 10 December, which is the only thing they had in common. The ones in green are the only ones that survived.

-
@turlough That is indeed a lot. Are all these random and old torrents?
-
Woooow didn't know that problem was this bad. In fact looks like a sabotage. Some torrents that I uploaded got bumped to the front page today and are freeleching currently. Guess I should be waiting for a "dmca takedown" any minute now, for a 2 year old torrents, a content creator of which left online presence years ago and doesn't care.
This is in fact a problem as someone is just triggerhappy and is removing everything, randomly. Previously I thought it was just to keep fan sites stuff to a minimum now it seems that someone wants to make sthe site obsolete
sad -
Also it seems that the goal is to delete everything on all fronts. If the torrent is on Top torrents page - deleted, if it is from like 5 years ago and is freeleeching - deleted, if it's posted in fan sites category -deleted. very soon no one will be able to post anything.
By the way the whole deleting time is 8 - 9 AM USA western coast time. This is usually when everything disappears -
Here we go ...

Sad ...

Your point being?

Sorry, but IMHO a DMCA complaint...regardless of how or why or who lodged the complaint...is a reasonably valid copyright complaint, regardless as to whether someone wonders why other movies/etc. are still here without being taken down. DMCA complaints have to be complied with to avoid potential further legal issues.
Complaining or whining about something being taken down isn't going to change the situation. Like it or not, it is what it is.

AND the site is for some reason indexed by Google.
I wish someone could explain to me WHY on earth this site is indexed on Google. It shouldn't be.
Fan sites is basically useless because torrents are being taken down. But they should do whatever it takes to fix this because fan sites is the new reality of gay porn. It makes no sense to not do whatever it takes to hide this new uploads when we know that fan sites will only get more popular. We need these torrents to stay hidden and not be taken down because they are showing up on Google or whatever.
Forgive me in case all I'm saying here is complete bullshit but c'mon! That's what's happening right?

I do think the website can hide these torrents by not indexing the website on Google though. It seems like they use Google for all these takedown notices.
I think users have the right to complain if it means that website owners might be able to actually do something about it to help us.

It does seem odd to me that pages are accessible "from the outside." I can only presume that the site owner(s) have reasons for this...and also that these are not topics that can get an official answer from them.
