<![CDATA[What video player are you using?]]>Hey y'all!
I wanted to ask what media player y'all are using! I had issues with recent uploads where my files didn't work with other people's video players like they did with mine. I thought I should keep compatibility more in mind for the future.
So far I always check with VLC or MPC-HC!

Depends on the video file probably, but it happens in most cases. I often pause videos, so that's an annoyance. At the moment I prefer MPC for that reason.

I just want a player that works well.

WMP main issue for me is its inabilitiy to display subtitles (.srt) automatically, I need to tweak with the codecs to display them.
Another minor issue is that it supports less video formats, but overall it has a simple UI and it gets the job done

VLC I use when:

  1. as mentioned above, some videos are not supported by WMP
  2. Use of keyboard shortcuts to fast forward and jump between tracks

WMP might offer these things, but if so, they're buried in obscure menus.

I like WMP if my focus is on the audio--it has lots of options for tweaking the sound.

I have to use WMP for some .avi files that don't play right in MPC-HC or VLC.
