That is why the owner set it, that a torrent can be freeleech on the 7th day of upload.

Mods and owner have discussed this back in 2013.

I think the UPLOADER should be able to set their own upload to freeleech within 24 hours if nobody is downloading it. If people were downloading it, there would be no reason to set it to freeleech.

You have no idea how much you have almost hit the truth on the reason why the freeleech was set on the 7th day from the time of uploading.

Before you can freeleech any torrent even under 7 days upload, but most members do the hit and run download and not for the purpose of fixing their ratio.

My ratio is so high already that I don't need a higher ratio. I actually like to help people and make them happy... People think I am weird because I like to help them.

Freeleeching creates a demand that could end up killing the torrent because no one can download it or just give up because of the absurdly low speeds.

I believe you have to wait a week before you (or anyone else) can freeleech a torrent...

That's from observation - there is likely a timer of some kind, but I am guessing as to exactly how long it is... but for some of my own uploads, I have freeleeched them after about a week...
