When it was pointed out, the Democrats who used the poster apologized and literally "scraped off" the offending period.

Editing implies knowingly modifying something - this wasn't that.

I'm suggesting that adding a period was inconsequential. I would argue that the choice of FONT used on the poster had more impact than the extra period.
