Actually, me being the scientist that I am believes that the whole construct of race has been proven to be invalid. We are - genetically, and scientifically speaking - one "race": the Human Race.

Oh, but you were taught about the 3 (or 5) different races as a small child - this destroys your "world view", so it must be false... never-mind that the DNA of humans hadn't even begun to be studied when you were "taught" about races 150 years ago (joking - 40 years ago? 30? even 20!)...

ANY idea that one person's ancestry gives them innate power over others is genetically absurd, and proven to be so...

And, as I've pointed out in these forums before, the American "idea" of race as being principally tied to skin color is unheard of in most other parts of the World - where White Christians and White Jews very much believe they are of different races! Not only that, but White Jews and Darker-Skinned Jews - even Black Jews - very much believe that they are of the same race: the Jewish race!

And again - it's all in our collective heads... there is NO biological difference ... and basing decisions - pro-White, pro-Black, or otherwise based on outdated concepts of "race" is wrong.

While that is scientifically true, it is of little value to ignore the social constructs and ancestral histories that have provided "race-based" advantages and disadvantages to people of certain skin colors based on these outdated and dis-proven concepts of "differences"...

While there is no scientific basis for race differentiation, there certainly are social and societal bases... it will take generations for us - as a society - to tear down these now discredited social belief systems. And it will take a concerted effort - among all - to accelerate the path to a "one race" society... but that won't be my generation, nor even my grandchildren's... and so each generation must do its part to move us (societally) to a more honest and just acceptance of people - all people - as "racially" equals...

Sounds "pie in the sky" - but 400 years ago, it was a popular belief that Black people were "inherently inferior" to other races - and were incapable of being educated to the same degree as Whites! (That's historical fact, not my belief!) Take a look at any college campus today and you'll see proof that those beliefs were wrong - and while considerable progress has been made, there is much more to be done...

I've actually been working with the moderators to correct my uploads and ratios. For the past month anything I upload doesn't count or update within the system despite me sharing tons of GB worth of data since that time. Thanks for the concern though, I'm hoping to have the problem fixed soon.

I'm over the convo, but you've proven my point several times when I mentioned that you were only interested in a divided country. Your response to that was to call me a "leftist" or something of the sort, and now I'm a liberal, which again only proves my point that you seem to be interested in division. But getting back to the topic.. why are you on this site for 10 years, and not doing anything but being a troll? Personally, I would ban anybody from this site who never uploads nor downloads anything.

@lololulu19 and @raphjd are both making the same argument... either:

• it's OK to be racist against <insert minority here>, because <minority> are racist against me! Here's an example of <insert single minority person> being racist!

- or -

• I need to protect my White Race against these other <insert minority here> people because they're all racist against me! Here's an example of <insert minority group> being racist!

The simple concept of "racism is bad: for all, from all, to all, about all" is incompatible with their beliefs - beliefs that hold that the old "status quo" was "good and equitable", that things were "better" in the past, and where their Whiteness and White Privilege wasn't challenged.

Mind you, they didn't learn these opinions and beliefs as adults, they were ingrained into them as children... thus, these are infallible beliefs that cannot be challenged in their minds... Neither @lololulu19 nor @raphjd are particularly "young" - which means that these "modern fights" for "equality" are seen by them as an attack on what they hold as fundamental, core belief systems!

What's worse, they see it as a zero-sum-game! For there to be "more equality" for other minorities, there must be "less equality" for Whites.

It's this last area that I BELIEVE is the most damaging...

• allowing women the right to vote didn't dilute or threaten Democracy, it strengthened and re-invigorated it!
• allowing blacks and natives to become lawyers, and later judges, didn't damage or demean our legal systems, it strengthened and legitimized them!

The examples are many... there are no limits to how "high (or far) we can go"... giving liberty, freedom, and equality to all only gives more fuel to the engine!

And even if they did say it, and chose to refer to themselves that way, why do you want to say it sooo bad? Stop acting like you're oppressed just because your desire to use a racial slur is frowned upon. You're continuously using and conflating the n-word which, has a racist connotation with a word used WITHIN a community, FOR that community.

There are cultures around the world that have words/language that the people within that community use to acknowledge each other, that someone outside of the community wouldn't use. People seem to understand and respect these cultural differences except when it comes to the Black community, and then everyone pretends to be confused and not understand nuances.
