All 3 of these organizations are primarily staffed (though not necessarily LED) by SCIENTISTS who are seeking facts and truth, not political points. The politicians they support are the ones that give them the money to do their research. Most of these scientists are so focused on the science - not the politics. And sometimes they actually DO overlook the bad ways their discoveries can be used - because to them, knowledge is the goal... the ONLY goal.

I will repeat: the Moderna mRNA technology was being developed pre-COVID-19 as a potential treatment or vaccine against HIV. That research continues, and so - with the extreme success rate seen with the re-tooling for COVID-19 - the hope for something that works as a defense against HIV is there and palpable.

Of course, those results will be politicized - but while the politicians argue, the scientists will go back to work figuring out the NEXT BIG THING.... because that is what they do!

The page was updated June 22 to include a June 15 advisory from the WHO's Strategic Advisory Group of Experts that concluded the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine is safe for anyone age 12 or older.

WHO spokesperson Tarik Jasarevic told USA TODAY that children ages 12-15 who are at high risk may be offered this vaccine alongside other priority groups.

"Children and adolescents tend to have milder disease compared to adults, so unless they are part of a group at higher risk of severe COVID-19, it is less urgent to vaccinate them than older people, those with chronic health conditions and health workers," Jasarevic said via email.

The WHO has explained that vaccine supply is scarce in certain countries, which is why the agency made this recommendation.

Based on CDC numbers;

Once again, more kids have gotten Myocarditis from the Pfizer vaccine than have died from C-19.

Likewise, more kids have gotten GBS from the J&J vaccine than have died from C-19.

The same applies to other problems the various vaccines are causing in kids. Add al that shit up and we see the "cure" is more dangerous for kids than the disease.

Clearly, you have no idea how the NHS works. We get the doctor they assign us. Sometimes you get the same doctor all/most of the time and other times you get whatever random doctor that is available.

The UK's NHS is not what I'm talking about, and is a clear example of why the US should NOT adopt that model. The issue you raise with the British NHS is exactly why the Dems kept saying "You can keep your Dr" in all the Obamacare debates (even tho it was - at least partly - an absolute lie (they weren't just wrong, they KNEW that MANY people would NOT be able to keep their Drs!).

However, you should read a little farther in the WHO report: they say children under 18 (12-18 in the US) shouldn't get the shot... not because they won't work, or are dangerous - but because the WHO wants those vaccines distributed to other countries where more at-risk people are dying.

But again, regardless of the straw-man argument you want to create against it, it is simple:

I trust my Dr - not without question, but in general - more than I trust any TV "talking head"

And if you don't feel the same about YOUR Doctor, you need a new Doctor!

The J&J shot causes Guillain-Barré Syndrome but you would trust your doctor if he said to get it.

I guess your dentist also recommends full-mouth tooth extraction because teeth can get cavities.

The problem is, it's all data you make up!

When you wake up in the morning and put your feet on the bathroom floor, you are taking a risk (those tile floors can become VERY slippery when wet - and that's what bathroom floors are designed for: getting wet!)

If you want a vaccine that has zero side-effects on anyone who takes it, you'll have to wait for another 50 years or so - when they'll be able to "design" the vaccine for your own personal, unique, DNA. That ain't today!

You do realize that the original Polio vaccines in the mid-1950s actually CAUSED Polio (and death from it) in a tiny percentage of people who took it? Yet, people in the 1950's and 1960's lined up to get the shot - and Polio was all-but-wiped-out. (And some small number of people did actually die because of the vaccine itself).

A tiny percentage of children have adverse reactions to the MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccine every year.... yet, parents (and school systems) around the world still line up to get nearly all children that shot as well.

If you applied the same level of fear mongering and hyperbole to the act of driving, you'd be running around with your hair on fire trying to stop people from dying on the streets!

Back to the point:

My doctor did recommend that my son take the Pfizer vaccine - and he did, and he's had no side effects (other than, presumably, being better prepared to fight off the COVID virus, should he encounter it). That recommendation echoed the CDC and FDA recommendations. Again, if there is a Pfizer recommendation against it, I haven't seen it.

And even more to the point:

I expect, and depend on my Dr to know the truth about these things - and to separate the "wheat from the chaff" with all the dis-information being spread. If my Dr was not a better interpreter of this information than I am, then I wouldn't need her as a Dr, would I? I'd just do it all myself. (Sorry, I have a certain amount of hubris - but nowhere near that amount!)

When they're not being asked to summarize 1000 pages of research into a 15-second sound bite, the CDC and the NIH release TONS of research.. research you and I couldn't understand unless we spent 12 years in college studying medicine and infectious diseases! But fortunately for me, I know someone who CAN read those studies and get something useful out of them: my family Doctors! (Hey... you know what? They actually DID spend 12 years in college (including Medical School) studying this shit!)

So, I personally have chosen my Doctor (and my kids' Doctor) partly based on my interview with them - that included how and how much they stay up-to-date with new medical studies. So, when I asked my Dr what she thought about the COVID-19 vaccine, she wasn't acting blindly, or based on what President Trump said, or on what Dr. Faucci said! She based her response on what the ACTUAL researchers at NIH and the FDA actually wrote - and had published, as well as peer-reviewed.

For what its worth: my first COVID-19 shot came BEFORE Biden was President, and the 2nd came AFTER.

That aside, when my kids' Pediatrician said my son SHOULD get the shot, but my daughter should wait - and was able to articulate clearly how the risks to HIM were different than those to HER, I knew I had chosen wisely. My son has received 2 Pfizer shots, and we're all remaining VERY CAREFUL to help make sure my unvaccinated daughter isn't infected - at least not from us!

Long story short:

• I trust my Drs when it comes to MEDICINE.
• I trust my CPA when it comes to my taxes
• I trust my financial advisor when it comes to making investments & planning for retirement
• I trust my politicians for.... umm.....

NOTHING!

397 kids 12yo to 17yo, almost exclusively boys (over 390 are boys), have had myocarditis (heart inflammation) after receiving the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine.

Pfizer has always said that their vaccine is not for use in those under 18yo. This also aligns with the WHO guidance for all C-19 vaccines, not just Pfizer.

The biology of children's bodies are significantly different from those of adult ones... and, in spite of our laws saying otherwise, our adolescent bodies do not fully become adult until about age 25. (All of these ages: 16, 18, 21, 25, etc are just "averages" - each body is different... ask the Army recruiters who turn away 18 y/o "children" but seek exemptions for 17 y/o "men" who want to join! Age is a calendar measure, not a measure of development or maturity!

Our Pediatrician recommended my 15 y/o son TO get the shot (Pfizer), and equally recommended my 17 y/o daughter (who has been a "late bloomer") hold off until they come out with an approved, non-emergency tested pediatric version.

It should be a case-by-case basis.... not all children of the same age are alike... and especially during adolescence, there's a lot of crazy biological shit going on in their bodies!

Consult your pediatrician before giving your child ANY vaccine... ESP the COVID-19 one...

• If you TRUST your pediatrician, take their advise
• If you DO NOT TRUST your pediatrician, get a new one! (What kind of asshole parent takes their kids to a pediatrician they do not trust?)

As much as I am in-favor of COVID-19 vaccines for adults (nearly all adults), I am still of the opinion that you should ask your Dr. about any medical decision... and the same goes for your own (adult) Dr. as for your kids pediatrician: if you do not trust your own Dr, get a new one!

The Government shouldn't be making medical decisions for you: not about vaccines, not about flu shots, not about anything... Your medical decisions should be made (privately) between you and your Dr.
