<![CDATA[Link the possibility to rate a torrent to its download …]]>… I just uploaded a new torrent and before the first leecher has finished his download,
someone rated the torrent with one star (sucks!). The video is just a view days old, so the
possibility to already know this torrent can be dismissed. At the same time torrents added a
view minutes before and after mine where also rated very low. This wasn't the first time
that happend.

An optimist would say the one who rated my torrent already knew it and didn't like it.
Me for my part suppose there are 1 or 2 users out there who are generally grumpy, don't
like a specific topic (twinks/youngblood/bareback ...) or want
to make their own uploads look good among bad rated torrents.

I really appreciate when someone rates my uploads, even if the rating isn't that positive.
I sometimes upload torrents that don't suit my own taste (but I think there are maybe users
out there who will appreciate it).

My proposal would be to link the ability to rate a torrent to it's download.
Only those who downloaded a file can rate it.

Another solution would be to list those who rated an upload with their rating and username.

The outcome - in my opinion - would be a much more meaningful/reliable rating.
A bad rating would very much more relate to the content and videoquality itself.

Is there a possibility to implement such changes?

Like they say, "Opinions are like assholes.  Everyone has one."

Same goes for a news forum I belong to where you can rate with "thumbs up" or "thumbs down".  I never look at the thumbs.  If someone doesn't like my post, if they don't have the nads to address it specifically, it means nothing to me.

Maybe that could be a suggestion with the rating system.  Something like, in order to rate, you have to post a comment saying what you didn't like about the vid.  If they just post something stupid like "It sucked", then I wouldn't give that opinion any value.  But if they post something specific, at least the original seeder would be able to see if what they were saying is true.

Just a thought.

The other day every other upload had a 1 star rating immediately after the videos popped up on the site. This guy seems to have too much time on his hand!
Yes, the ratings system has to be changed…

One of the admin would have to code this in and I'm not sure how easy it would be or when they can do it since they have a fairly long "to do" list already.
