After installing BT Guard, I noticed a few things:

1. My upload speed went from about 100 kbps to about half that though it does sometimes jump to 100 kbps momentarily.

2. After seeding a torrent, my upload speed drops to either zero or maybe 20kbps as if I'm no longer the initial seeder.

3. My download speed is unaffected. It's still the same as it ever was.

Also, BT guard came with these two trackers installed:

udp://tracker.openbittorrent.com:80/announce

udp://tracker.publicbt.com:80/announce

I deleted those and substituted the GT tracker in their place. Was that correct?

Any help is appreciated … and please, please, please speak as much as possible in non-techo terms. I am somewhat techo savvy, but this is a new territory for me.

Thanks again.
