<![CDATA[What to do?]]>I just logged on to this site and according to the front page there are 158 active users within the last 15 minutes.
Why is it then I feel as if I am the only person logged on. What do you other guys do while you are logged on? Do you only browse for new torrents or do you use the Chat, Forums, Rules, FAQ's or Games?.

There doesn't seem to be any interaction between members, other than the forums.
My questions is I guess is it possible to have a message board or even a chat box?

I'm sure there maybe others who feel the same as I do.

Your thoughts please…

the approval process will be much more simple for you (and the mods)… i'm already working on it..
(anyway the users have to follow the rules... the system will active guide the user on how todo...)

also i work on a special gift for christmas 😉

There are periods when no one is there. I am one of the Mods who don't use it and don't like it because I have 'carpal tunnel', so I have to watch how much I type! (Boy, you can?t tell that from this posting, but it took me a LONG time to write it). I spend a lot of time on the site doing things members don't even know or care about, and so does Tom. Mods have a whole sections that you guys don't see where we keep asking Tom for new features, improvements, etc. In addition to that we have to deal with ?Helpdesk? issues and personal ?PM?s?. Then we have to review rule breakers and decide who we ban, who we issue a warning to, and for how long (there is a whole section that only Mods can see that has FAQ?s for Mods so we all apply the same rules.) You don?t see all the things that have to be done by the staff.

Let?s face it, most members come to this site to download torrents, they don?t want to ?chat?, and yes approval sometimes takes longer than you would like, but let me tell you this, one of the uploaders today submitted 5 torrents (already a violation of the rules) , but he had a slow connection and was seeding 23 torrents. I AM NOT EXAGGERATING TWENTY THREE!!!!, plus he was leeching 3 other torrents. What would you prefer? His using all his bandwidth being used for over 30 torrents, or just one?????? The whole point of the approval process is to get torrents to members as quickly as possible, and make the torrent list much ?cleaner?. Personally, I don?t want it to take 2 or 3 weeks to download a 1.00GB file!

If you want to only ?chat? find a ?chat? website! If you want to download a wide variety of torrents, guess where you should go?

Yeah, we are not always ?perfect? in answering questions, but we are a whole lot better than Mycroft or Yahoo, or just about any site I have seen. You know this was not written by a ?Standard message?

I've had a similar feeling lately. I know there are lots more users now than when I joined but there does seem to be less interaction even in the forums. It's a pretty drastic change and I really would like to know if anyone else has noticed.

I know some uploaders are uploading less here because of not wanting to tie up their bandwidth during the sometimes long (my record's six hours for a properly uploaded torrent) approval wait. :whistle:
But where's everybody else?

I'm not much for chat so I usually just check the forum to see what's new but an embedded chatbox sounds really cool. In fact, anything that could help to induce me and everyone else to be less of a wall flower would be great.

By the way, thanks yngmstr for sharing the banner contest entries. It's nice to see people contributing to the site in different ways.

Yep - been there done that….

I have used "chat" and never seen anyone else using it the same time as me. Even stayed in there for an hour and nothing. I thought it might have only been for the use of IRC channels.
