Also, download (and seed) very new torrents–such as those posted in the last half hour. If they're freeleech, great. If not, find a new one that has many files, and set your torrent client to download just a few of them--maybe 10% of the total file volume. You'll get those quickly, and then become a "source" for other leechers. Your ratio for that torrent will be large.

And...you're not going to be able to download big (>5 GB) torrents in their entirety for a while, until your ratio is better. A lot of users upload huge collections with no discernible theme (and garbage titles like, "My favorite fuck films"). Those aren't worth downloading...unless they're brand new and you're using the 10% technique I mentioned above.

My ratio was in the toilet for a long time, and then got worse when I had a hard drive crash and had to download stuff over again. Even now, I live up in the mountains and my cable internet goes down several times per day. But using some clever strategy has helped me build up a good buffer, so I'm ready for the next calamity.

You so right! I usually download freelench torrents + upload some + vote for the ones I already download and upload. It really helps. I got almost 3 months to get 3000 seedbonus to exchange in upload points. It's hard but just search what people download more/or like.

I don't understand why you want others to help you? I could see if you had at least uploaded 50GB and were having an issue but you have an Upload of 2GB and you joined in 2016.

It's honestly impossible. You have to donate. At which point, you gotta decide if it's just cheaper to buy the content than to get it here.

It's not impossible. There are over 1 million peers using the the tracker right now.

Maintaining a good ratio requires being careful from the start and not downloading a bunch of torrents without worrying about the ratio. After a while, it is not an issue at all. The people who complain on the forum are usually those who create an account, download a bunch of older videos with few new downloaders, and then don't seed 24/7.

The Comcast data cap was suspended from March until June 30th. Apparently you can pay Comcast for additional or even unlimited data. It's unfortunate for those affected by a greedy corporation, but it affects both downloading and uploading, so it reinforces the need to being careful about maintaining a good ratio in the first place by not downloading a bunch of torrents without thinking about the effect it will have.

Upload new torrents to earn upload credit when others download. This is possible even with download rights suspended
Upload new torrents to receive thank you seed bonus points gifted from other members
Download and seed freeleech torrents. This costs no download amount and gives you upload credit on these heavy traffic torrents
Vote category on completed downloads to earn 2 seed bonus points per vote
Search for duplicate torrents and earn 50 seed bonus points per confirmed report.
Submit pictures for torrents with < 10 total photos to earn 1 point per approved picture
Post your personal affiliate membership link to other areas of the internet or send to friends. You will earn 250 seed bonus points per new user.
Power Users can invite new members for 2 GB upload credit per new invite
Make donation for upload credit (helps us pay server costs)

It's bad enough I'm handicapped from Comcast 1.2 TB data cap.

fester, I feel your pain. "Con-cast" was my main provider until recently. My time spent now in NYC, where RCN wi-fi is literally five times faster, same price.

The one benefit of Comcast (from a few months back) is that they're not very active in the DMCA realm, while my NYC provider is watchful – hello, VPN...!

Back to the original topic, I'm afraid that if your Internet Provider runs at low speeds, I found the only solution was keeping huge amounts of torrents open and running 24/7, and your desktop/laptop/tablet/phone may not be able to handle that.
