<p dir="auto">I'm not sure, but my understanding is that a torrent includes extra information that a magnet does not.  I think a magnet requires that a corresponding torrent for it to work.  It's kind of like a truck pulling a trailer.  The truck is the "torrent" and the trailer  is the "magnet".  Without a truck, that trailer isn't going anywhere.</p>
