mmmhhh so couple of things, im versatile and enjoy both top and btm. i do have a friend who is 100% top but really wants to bottom but i guess he just didnt get the appropriate sensitivity in his anus/rectum. i'm not a doctore, but my personal theory is that some people just have more anal sensitivity than others, both men and women.

as for the sensation, yes, unless im super horny and getting fucked fills my head, then yes there will be an initial resistance and some discomort. for me, this goes away quite qickly (less than 30 seconds) and if the guy finds my prostrate and teases it, it becomes quite overwhealming, i get numb but at the same time all focus goes into that sensation. it is a little disorienting actually, i want to both escape and have more.
