A similar fix might work on Windows, dunno. Without the fix I eventually couldn't connect, with the fix I connect fast and never seem to drop the connection -rock solid.

Since PrivateInternetAccess keeps no logs, and let's say I'm in the US, and since servers would be faster in the US, would I be okay using them instead of using ones in Europe?

… and since when are servers in the U.S. faster than in other countries?

The clou is to reduce the hops between your private internet connection, the used vpn and the clients, you are connecting to. Every additional server connection between you and the endpoint will slow down your connection.

Excellent speeds and over 800 server exit nodes spread over 20 different countries in and out of the U.S. With all the recent revelations regarding U.S. agencies, they even recently upgraded their encryption connections and handshake protocols to selectable AES-256, SHA256, RSA-4096 and ECC-521. It has a fail safe protocol that prevents internet connection when the tunnel is interrupted that I have repeatedly tested with Wire Shark and it is totally secure. Additionally, they all 5 devices PER account and is compatible with pads, smartphones and computers with all variations of Linux/Mac/Win. It's an awesome service for an unbeatable price.

The two times I was caught was when I used their servers that were based in the US and Canada. They didn't reveal anything to the companies that wanted my info., and I used their servers in Europe afterwards.

I was told at the time that I wanted a service that was not US based, because in theory, a US based server could be served with papers, etc.

Now I learn that apparently only US based companies are not required to keep logs.

So if a company like Private Internet Access keeps no logs whatsoever, and people often share IP addresses, then how can they possibly be no good because they're in the US?

There's a wealth of bad, inaccurate info. out there, including sites that I'm convinced have been created by the companies themselves.

I tried a 3 day trial with PureVPN, and after they get your payment, they want photo proof from your credit card or the like if you're using Paypal or even Bitcoin. They were simply ineffective as well.

I found these two sites excellent, and am going to try PrivateInternetAccess, as they've been reviewed by CBSNews, Kiplinger's and got a #1 rating from PC Mag:
