I think the Registrar was being PC by changing the race from black to AA.   I don't think it was about dishonesty.

I don't think the founding fathers though about the possibility of a foreign land/kingdom becoming part of the US.

I don't doubt that Obama leans heavily (or totally) toward islam.   George Washington didn't have a problem with muslims.   The US marine Corps officer sword is a replica of the one given by the Sultan of Tripoli.

Altering the birth certificate to say "African American" (a PC term that did not exist at the time of Obama's birth) sounds pretty dishonest to me.
I don't think the founding fathers ever thought about the possibility of a distant land becoming part of the US either.  I think it is clear that their intent was to have a president who was born within the continent of North America and not on some tiny island that was practicing head hunting and cannibalism at the time.  And I'm 100% sure they never intended to have a person raised in Indonesia as a muslim until the age of 13 to be eligible to be president. 
I doubt very much that George Washington gave any thought to muslims.  Before the muslims became important for their oil reserves.. they had virtually zero significance to the world.  It wasn't until after WW2 that anybody would give muslims the time of day.  I'm not sure, but I think Tripoli used to be considered the unofficial "other side of the planet"  So, in the marine song "To the shores of Tripoli" they are signifying tha the marines reach spans the entire world.

Obama's birth cert is completely valid.     It's an extract (short form) of the original long form.

That birth certificate was not even produced until 1.5 years AFTER he was elected president.. which is bullshit.
The checksums on the certificate he produced indicate which fields were left blank.  One of the fields left blank was race.  Someone later filled that field in with "african american" which is a term that didn't exist when Obama was born.  It should have said either African or black. 
The woman who certified the birth record died a year after certifying it under mysterious "Ron Brown" like circumstances.  She was in a plane that crashed, and was the only one on the plane that died.  The other 20 people only had minor injuries.

Even if you take the birth certificate as being a valid Hawaii birth certificate,  the founding fathers certainly didn't intend to include land thousands of miles away from the rest of the country as being a valid birthplace of a president. 
Furthermore.. Obama was not raised in Hawaii.  He was raised in muslim Indonesia until the age of 13.  Clearly, that was not the intent of the founding fathers either.

Lastly.. even if you take everything about that certificate being valid… what percentage of people do you think were ever aware that:
At the time he was elected, he had not produced a birth certificate
He was not born on the continent of North America
He was not raised in North America
He was raised as a muslim by a big shot muslim named Soetoro
He was raised in Indonesia
His birth certificate was modified at some point several years after his birth
The woman who certified it died under mysterious circumstances

Had people been made aware of those things, I doubt very much that Obama would have won a second term.

By the way, Obama's own brother says Barack is muslim.
