One thing that can help is if you both drink scotch.  It somewhat covers the taste if not the smell.

Oddly, I find watching a guy smoke to be a huge turn on.

In any case, they have different smells, expensive cigarettes are sometimes even pleasant. Sometimes it has a psychological effect when you get used to the same smell it becomes familiar. But in most cases not comfortable.
