Using your example of the k - that is how I pronounce it.. but think a soft K - like another poster said.. exactly like strength

The pronunciation will vary depending on where it's said though as well, note that wiktionary has the UK English pronunciation as lĕngth whereas American English pronunciation is lĕnth
