I am hoping I just need a break from these series and I am not burnt out by all games.

I think anyone (as in gamers) would feel one in one point of their lives.

I'm a fan of Tomb Raider, but during the days when Eidos were releasing underwhelming sequels (like "Chronicles" or "Angel of Darkness"), I got burnt out and never even bother completing one. Took me years later than I've finally wrapped them both. It's happening with the latest one, "Rise of the Tomb Raider". But probably because I'm playing it on a downscaled Xbox360 version.

As for Pokemon, it was "Black & White" that burnt me out. Simply because the Pokemon introduced there were underwhelming and 'ugly'. My hype returned with "X & Y" though.
