My biggest payload for j/o material has been GT.ru for a year. Occasionally I enjoy xtube and cam4 (although a lot less since I found this home).

Is it my imagination or reality that xtube vids (based upon FLV files for display after users' uploads) have seen MAJOR degradation with pixelization problems.

Compared to years ago, I now see problems in old and new short vids (from my long-standing "favorites" of yesteryear) – whether watching them online or downloading the FLV file offline.

Has anyone else felt this same problem -- I cannot imagine that it is just my computer.

Regards,

What I had been experiencing when I made this post just over two months ago had been lasting for a couple of weeks. This problem continued to last a couple of weeks.

Whatever the problem with xtube, it seems to have been corrected some time ago.

I really appreciate the sorta related post at http://community.gaytor.rent/index.php?topic=11496.0 providing more ideas about converting .flv to other more mainstream formats.

I would try something like wimpyflv to see it the problem is truly with the file. Also xtube has a HD pay section now so it may be that they are trying to get users to go that route for better quality.
