Greatest film I've seen in years!
Long overdue for a gay film to take home Best Picture at the Oscars after "Brokeback Mountain" was robbed in 2007.
I'm very proud of The Academy. It's about time. Thank you very much.

They didn't just sit back and expect to win everything just because they're black, they worked hard for it. Naomie Harris didn't even want to do the part because she felt it was stereotypical, but she realized the importance and did the role. The fact that you were so quick to demonize people without even the slightest clue as to why the film was even created is just so juvenile and ignorant. I'm done with this to be honest.

I didn't want to call him a troll because I'm usually not quick to dismiss people like that, but you're right, he's obviously trolling. He didn't even know the movie was based on life in Miami as Tarell Alvin McCraney saw it.

Your argument is invalid because you came into this with the mindset that this movie was politically motivated with some "Marxist" agenda or whatever, when in reality its a look at the life Tarell Alvin McCraney similarly lived growing up in Miami. What you started on this thread was not even an opinion, it was just wrong and so disrespectful and disregarding of someone's actual life experiences. I would never dismiss someone like you in the ways you dismissed the maker of Moonlight and people like me who actually do love the film. Who are you to deny someone's experiences like that? That's the only thing I'm calling you delusional for. I know nothing of your experiences and I didn't even bring up your experiences or what you have been through. I never said you should like this movie just because it had an all black cast and is about a black gay man and his experiences growing up. That's damn sure not why I love the film. I love the film because it is one narrative being told about someone's life experiences, not because it represents every single experience of black gay men. I have no idea what reviews you've seen, but the ones I've seen were by people who actually saw the film and loved seeing a unique look into someone's life who grew up black and gay in Miami. The movie was the most critically-acclaimed film of 2016 by people who are experts at examining every single aspect of film. It is currently the 2nd, 3rd or 4th highest rated movies on many different sites since those sites began. I've seen negative reviews of the film and none of them say any of the damaging and disgusting things that you have said about it. Going off on wild tangents about people being a part of "Marxist" left-wing agendas and all that conspiracy talk is not going to help you make your point. Trust me.

The life experiences of Tarell Alvin McCraney, which Moonlight was mostly based on, are not some political agenda. HE LIVED THAT LIFE so how dare you say the movie has some political agenda? I need to wake up? You're calling someone's FACTUAL LIFE EXPERIENCES a political agenda. Ok. You're delusional.

IMDB rating doesn't factor into Academy Award win lol. Moonlight was the most critically-acclaimed movie of 2016 by over 100 professional movie critics. It deserved Best Picture for many, many other reasons than that though. Political correctness had absolutely nothing to do with it. If that were the case, Fences or Hidden Figures would have won since those movies dealt with historical racism. Moonlight was mostly set in more recent years and had ZERO mentions of racism in it. Try again with that raggedy argument lol.

It's a movie that has an all black cast, and is homosexual related.

It was a politically correct move. Don't bullshit me.

I haven't even seen the fucking movie, and know that.

Whoa, someone's angry. And seriously, what's wrong with a movie having an all black cast and having a main gay character? Is something supposed to be wrong with a movie like that that also is liked by a lot of professional movie critics? And you haven't seen the movie, yet your angry about something. Very telling.

I never said anything is wrong with having a black cast and a gay main character. Hello?! Can't tell by my avatar I'm a gay black man?

What I mean is, the oscars, academy awards, golden globes etc. All this shit is supposedly there to award excellence in cinema.

Moonlight is not worthy in that category I'm sorry.

My point is, the movie somehow is cinematically excellent because it's pushing a politically correct agenda and removing all the current falsehods that America is a racist and homophobic, xenophobic country right now.

I'm not angry. I just really want you to wake the fuck up.

Just because I'm black and gay myself, I'm supposed to by default fawn over a black gay drama film winning best movie in a mundane award show controlled by white social marxists elites who work on politically correct ideals and motives?

I first heard about Moonlight a few months back by watching the teasers and shit and I just immediately thought of it as a cable television film, and I didn't want to waste my time with it.

Is it a bad movie? Hell no. Is it a movie that I think is what it's hyped up to be? I don't think I can say yes to that.

Upon reading synopsis and reviews and things, I felt my feelings were justified and I don't need to waste my time or piece of mind with this shit.

I'm very aghast that this film won all the awards it has and I'm sorry, I think you should be more aware and educated than that. This is completely a politically correct motive and rule to squash the lack of black centric media in white awards shows, and lack of gay media in white award shows.

To be honest I haven't seen that movie and I am not going to. I really don't think its that special and worth my time, thats all. Specially if someone is "forcing" me to see it.

I dont think that society in nowadays is xenophobic, racist, fascist, etc. as corporate media says. The problem is that someone, whoever is in charge of this planet, is pushing their sick agenda too hard and this is exactly creating a new problems, new conflicts. One example: Obama, only reason why he won election is his color, nothing more, nothing less… well, maybe he was also a good puppy for someone else and still that fascist, xenophobic, fascist people supported him (including me for a very short while) and what he did? Exact opposite of what he promised in everything, he dropped a bomb every 20 minutes for whole 8 years, no one before him spent more time at war than Obama, but still he got a Nobel piece price.

Do you think this is helping society? I dont.
