Last week I was shopping for pet supplies online (chewy), and came across a new dry food called Purina ProPlan LiveClear, which "significantly reduces allergens in cat hair and dander."

I bought a 7-lb bag and they love the taste. It's not cheap, but if it works, possibly worth it. If interested, go to the Purina website for details on how long it takes to work, etc.

Save the kitties!

I have a HEPA air filter in my living room, where the animals are. It helps a lot with the dust from my African Grey parrot.

HEPA room air filters and cleaning are key to survival. You'll need a HEPA vacuum too, so it doesn't blow the dander back into the room.

I know a friend of mine however who is in the same situation, and he uses an air purifier in the house. Maybe it helped considering he has no symptoms.
