I've been reshuffling files to here and there and everywhere, I just added 0.5TB and it's full already.

But I don't have possibilities to get new 2 or 3 TB HDD anytime soon. I'm afraid I have to leave torrent world, I can't help but get more and more and more from a lot of sources, always looking for the version with best quality or convert myself from mkv/dvd, I use h264 so those are always crystal crisp clear.

I mostly only collect full movies. I like military theme, outdoors theme, twinks theme, hung… :cool2:

I have tons of MEGA cloud accounts that I've stuffed full of vids.

I need some solution. I'm saving money for sure.

What I have researched I think one of most cheap (and rather good quality) at the moment are probably Verbatim HDD's, I drool for one 2TB or 3 TB or so Some day, some day

I wonder what happened to that guy here some weeks ago who had crowdfunding for new HDD(s).

Just 2-3 years ago I was buying 3TB drives and now I buy 5TB with 8TB's on the horizon of being the best $/TB. If you want good consumer HD stats look no further than Backblaze's report on the ones they use. In fact they just posted their newest "review" today https://www.backblaze.com/blog/hard-drive-benchmark-stats-2016/

Also if you thinking of 3Tb, you probably know, but in case you don't or this is for those of you who were like me and didn't know, Computers read disks max 2.2Tb. I needed a program that helps read disks bigger that 2Tb. I had it in my motherboard cd. If I'd make two partitions the second I got ma disk, everything would be ok, but I just started to download on it and when my comp freezed and I restarted it right in the middle of downloading, I ruined my disk.So just be carefull

Hmm. Thanks for linking.

I wonder if I make a crowdf. and post the link would it be successful at least on some level. I guess I'd just have to see.

I too don't have the best of experiences with Seagate.

I have a few of the 8TB drives and they work great.

I have 15 of these https://www.amazon.com/Seagate-Backup-Desktop-External-STDT5000100/dp/B00J0O5R2I/ref=sr_1_fkmr1_3 (all shucked and used as internal) and they work great. At $25/TB they are good deal, IMHO 5TB is the "sweet spot" for HD's. It's hard to find cheaper than $25/TB (probably possible with sales but I prefer to use the same drive, different lots, in my arrays).
