I feel so sorry for guys with medium height, weight, hair, oh… age, shoe size, etc.  They are rarely considered in THIS or THAT.   :blownose:

Even so, I'll take the short guy.  I'm 6' 0", and over the years, 90 percent of my "friends" have been not as tall.

THIS or THAT:  a boyfriend that pays a little too much attention to fashion in the way they dress, or one who pays not quite enough.

I'd choose the "not quite enough" option. I, myself, am not into fashion and I'd prefer to have my boyfriend not as well. It would remind me of dating someone from Project Runaway… Nothing against them, I'm just not a fan myself.

        iphone or galaxy?

After the Apple news on New Years? Galaxy. Before the scam? Galaxy.

The party is getting bored, make it a blast or find a better one?

My preferences for parties are pretty boring by most standards:  playing games, watching movies & discussing them, one-on-one talks.

Going to the movies by yourself or with a group of friends?

              I'm going to the movies…

Instead of solo or with a group of friends, I have to choose a different option:  with just one friend, who has the same enthusiasm level for the film as I do.

THIS or THAT:  When you go to the movies, would you prefer a box of popcorn, or a candy bar?

Popcorn, though they sell it in paper bags here.

                Live theatre or dance

Well, my opinion is torrent, of course – and completely uninfluenced by the host for my comment!

Torrents offer convenience and speed.  A Gig of torrent data can be moved in 15 minutes or an hour, depending on your own set-up. Whereas it can take forever (my longest is 28 hours!) moving a Gig on the painfully slow, free versions of direct downloaders.  Of course, that equation changes if you have a paid subscription.

Torrent sites also tend to have better Forums, where we can be part of champagne conversation with the likes of Cuervos!  Is that not reason enough?

THIS or THAT:  Seats at the finish line of the Indy 500, or the Kentucky Derby?

                        Kentucky Derby… it's a great party.

                        Hamburgers or hot dogs?

                          Hamburgers.  I make from scratch.

                          ketchup or mustard

                            A dijon mustard.

Going medieval… you're sentenced to death and get to choose the Pear of Anguish, or the Catherine Wheel?

Those are… extremely hurtful, I'd go Catherine Wheel.

Talking about ways of dying, burn at the stake or getting into the iron maiden?

Me scared of fire!  Fire, bad!  I would choose the Iron Maiden and hope for one extra spike through the forehead, to shorten the agony.

Science fiction THIS or THAT:  You see a strange, shimmering, alien portal in the forest.  You walk through it, and it disappears.

Well, it wasn't a standard time portal, it's still 2018.  But YOU changed.  Would you rather discover that you had become five years younger, or had gained telepathic powers?

                                  Physically 5 years younger.
Interesting factoid from sci-fi Conventions.  After the advent of Twitter and Facebook; the interest in knowing what other people were REALLY thinking dropped like a rock.
I'd still prefer either telekinesis or healing.

Be able to change people's thoughts or change people's emotions

To change people's Thoughts, or Emotions…  I think a case could be made that if you have control of either one, it would give you at least partial influence over the other.

Changing people's Thoughts sounds a bit more like Orwellian mind control.  I would choose the ability to change people's Emotions, with an emphasis on bringing a little happiness or peacefulness to those in difficult times.  Where's that damn angel...?

I have met both Shatner and Stewart.  So, fucking.
I had the hots for Shatner when he made "Devil's Rain".

The same question with Leonard Nimoy and Zachery Quinto.
