The game is Ōkami, for the PS2. (I do dearly love Inuyasha, though)

Do you have Google translator on your phone?
You can scan different languages, yes even Asian ones and get real time translations.

I teach EFL and I tell my students, of course not while in class, to use this to get quick translations.

The characters are basically a common Buddhist chant/script paying homage to one of the buddhas, you can go ahead and buy it as it's not something silly lol
