I think a lot of people are in denial because of the stigma that exists in a lot of places against homosexuality (I've always been skeptical about the percentages presented. I think there's probably a lot more 'mos out there than anyone realizes).

It is A LOT more than 30 percent let me tell you .
Most people are bisexual than straight and gay let me tell you !!!

I went through my whole "I'm not gay, it's just a phase!" and "I'm not gay, I'm just bisexual!" period in high school, too. But, finally, I realized being gay didn't have any bearing on who I was as a person. I admittedly don't advertise it to most people. I simply hate the idea of being someone's trophy/token fag. I don't want to be considered "interesting" (or worse, "useful"), on the basis of orientation, as if it defines me as a human being. But, beyond that, and the minor discomfort of knowing some people will always think of me as "weird" or "gross" for being gay, I am not at all uncomfortable with it. Maybe I'm lucky in that respect, though, because I think there's a lot of people who never come to terms and get comfortable–even happy--with it themselves on an individual level.
