I've been fisting for 35 years and have seen rosebuds on perhaps 10% of the occasions I've played.  It's usually intentional, or a case of the gut spasming and the bottom not having been properly trained in how to control it, or a badly trained top triggering an uncontrollable spasm.

There's a hell of a lot of finesse to fisting that you just can't ever see in porn movies because there's no way to film it.  Shame that the skills to do it well are being lost.

No, rosebuds aren't a necessity at all.  It's just a matter of the bottom not doing it intentionally, and both sides truly understanding what they're doing.
