But it can easily get nightmarish for these living in the suburbs or worst, in the countryside.

You can't be serious. There's not even job or housing protection nationwide for people against gender identity or sexual orientation discrimination. That's not to mention the problems with hate crimes or the very conservative culture where homophobia and transphobia are common,

That said, i am from the capitol Amsterdam, there are corners of the country where religious conservatism still the status quo, and being raised there as a gay child would be problematic to say the least.
