I like many slashers ("Halloween" & "Friday 13th" series, "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre", "Scream"…) and also Asian horror films or space-themed ("Event Horizon", "Alien"...)

Argento's work is great (well anything pre-1990s). French horror is also great, Eyes Without A Face and more recently Martyrs. Asian horror also never fails to scare the shit out of me.

i personally really like no one lives (2008), but afraid i might be alone on this one lol.
