It was all about the twinks. It didn't overcome stereotypes, just reinforced them to closeted-folk still shocked that they themselves were gay.

Both are pretty inspirational in their own way. I think because the US version ran longer it could deal with several issues which the UK version did not do. Also I loved Michael's mother as she had a big contribution in the show, whereas Vince's relationship with his mom was not explored to that extent. But both shows are awesome.

Same here.  When I didn't have a single gay friend to relate to that show gave me something to empathize with.

And to think that was only, like, 2003 - how far we've come in 13 years.

The British original is brave, but the American version offered us the alternative dramatic and sensible aspect of homosexuals in the 2000s.

I think it really gave another dimensions to TV shows in general and especially to the gay genre. Unabashed, witty and stylish.

UK version is more of light comedy coz there are scenes which is supposed to be somber (like the funeral scene) but still they've injected humour in it…..

Although the US version is great, I prefer the UK version.....
