Taylor Swift seems to be a nice enough person and quite pretty - but I find BOTH her music and song writing (which she has received SOOOOO much acclaim for….wretch..) to be insipid.  Sorry, I just can't take anymore of either.  Her "vocal" ability is really weak as well.  Considering the boat-load of awards that have been bestowed upon her and her record setting sales - I too am quite the minority here.  Katy Perry is just bubble gum to me generally.  I do think that she has a decent voice however.  None of these current "stars" even come close to comparing to the vocal dynamos of the last few decades...  Love them or hate them (and song-wise, I don't love them all) - Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Celine Dion, Christina Aguilera are/were REAL vocal talents.
