<![CDATA[First Time Uploader]]>Hello,

I'm using uTorrent 3.3.2 to seed this torrent.

I uploaded my first torrent using QTM. At the end of the process, uTorrent gave me a popup that said, "Unable to download torrents - Bencoding, invalid torrent file!" I clicked OK.

Next, I downloaded the torrent file under "My Torrents".

At this point, I'm guessing that I need to upload the torrent manually using uTorrent. Can someone help me with this part of the process?

Also, the torrent hasn't been approved yet, so I'm not sure if I'm supposed to wait until it is approved to begin the utorrent upload process. Can someone answer that for me?

They will get two notices about the points when it process them.

Yep, I just submitted the request now. It had to be seeded for 24 hours, so I was waiting for that.

I'm still using µTorrent 2.2.1 latest stable built. I use as well qBittorrent. On another PC I run µTorrent the latest stable version 3.4.30 currently, mainly for support.

I think it should be active and seeded. It's showing as visible, so hopefully I did everything right. It shows the tracker as working as well.

Just out of curiosity, what version of utorrent are you using?

Do you mean the torrent isn't visible? Which is different than approved. The torrent will only become visible once the system sees there is a seeder for the torrent.

On another site there was a discussion about that error and I think it came down to the version of uTorrent. It didn't like torrent files made by other programs, from memory.

Has your torrent started seeding? You can tell if the torrent page here says visible.

I think the solution on the other site was for those with the wrong version of uTorrent to make their torrent files using MakeTorrent.

You would then have to use the manual upload but it is really quite easy if you follow the instructions.

All uploads go live now immediately without approval, except for a few uploaders with bad history (and a few glitch through when changing the default).

The trick is if you load the re-downloaded .torrent file into your µTorrent, to let µTorrent find the data file(s) to share.

There are different ways to do that:
a) pointing the download to the directory with the data file
b) having the data file in µTorrent's default download directory BEFORE you add the torrent
c) having the data file in the same directory than the .torrent file when you open it with µTorrent

Here way a):

1. Stop the torrent (do NOT remove)
2. Click with the right mouse button on the torrent in µTorrent/BitTorrent's list and select "Advanced" > "Set Download Location…" > navigate to the to the folder which contains the file, respectively folder, from which the torrent has been created, confirm with "Select folder".
3. Right mouse button click on the torrent in µTorrent's list and select "Force re-check". The torrent should check to 100% and µTorrent displaying "Finished" instead of "Stopped" in the status column.
4. Restart the torrent, it shall go to "Seeding" or at least to "Queued seeding"
