      I prefer home but I also use the gym a few times a week.

        Personally, I prefer the gym.  I get to taste the candy.  The EYE candy, that is.  I sold my home gym.  I only looked at myself in the mirror and lost my appetite!

          I've just started doing bodyweight workout a month or so ago. Now I'm doing some with an android app. It's working out well so far.

            It depends for me. If I have friends that are willing to come with me, I'd rather go to the gym. There is also equipment there that I don't have at home. If I have to workout alone, I'd definitely prefer working out at home. It's also nice to take a walk through trails and enjoy the fresh are. So I guess it's a combination of all of them.

                @Eridanos:

                Honestly, it depends on you.

                At the gym you can be more focused on your workout since you don't have any distractions (unless you go there to be a social butterfly…), there's the chance of an instructor guiding you and of course, since you're spending money on the membership and all you have more drive to make every penny count. Some cons could be the time you spend commuting, the gym's fees and obnoxious gym-goers.

                At home you can be more comfortable and if you have enough willpower you can focus on your routine at your own pace. Some cons would be that you need to have an exercise-at-home plan ready, the obvious absence of gym machines (depending on your routine) and the overall fact that the distractions at home might tempt you to procastinate your workout.

                I'd say you should try both (some gyms offer trial memberships) and once you find the one that adpats best to you, made the final choice.

                ^this. I go to the gym depending on my mood…or just work out at home if my schedule doesn't allow it

                      I do a combination of both.  I work out at home on my cardio and lighter days.  On days when I need specific equipment, I actually go to the gym.

                      Have you serviced your Dom today?

                        As a previous poster said, it all depends on you.

                        People are different, so what works for some may be horrible for others.

                        I do a mixture; gym, home and nature.

                        There have been studies showing that exercising in nature makes you happier than home or a gym.  Also, group (2 or more) exercise tends to work best.
