But my main point was not so much ignoring the messages but that with a flood like that taking up pages of 'recent posts' it soon reaches its limit of 10 pages and the only way I know to check new posts then is to go through the forum list to see when each forum had its last post

I didn't know the forum limited the display of unread messages to a limit of 10 pages only. Â :crazy2:
If administration is willing to accept having a forum that remains succeptible to frequent flooding then they should also accept the consequences of that flooding (e.g., the allowance for more-than 10-pages of accumulated unread forum posts).
Under normal circumstances I suppose 10 would be sufficient. But the conditions held at the time the limits went into effect are presently no longer met. This requires _new r_ules allowing for a higher page count.
In any event, you can clear the unread messages from just the joke board itself before you use "Show Unread Posts" to access newer posts from the entire forum, without the flooded content. That link is:

By marking all content from the joke board as read, and then clicking "Show Unread Posts" https://community.gaytor.rent/index.php?action=unread this will bring up a list of all unread posts from every board except the joke board. With most nuisance-content originating from within the joke board, this measure effectively dams the flood.

That would be a solution except, for me, the 'Unread Posts' links haven't worked for ages. I did mention it in a forum but got no reply (or at least any that helped). Whenever I click on 'Show Unread Posts (since my last visit)' I get nothing.
I am talking about the 'Show Recent Posts' - https://community.gaytor.rent/index.php?action=recent which is limited to 10 pages.
Normally this is more than adequate as I check new posts, usually, a couple of times a day. But if someone posts 10 pages of 'jokes' then that's all that shows on 'Recent Posts'. Then I have to look at the Forum page to see which forums have had posts added since my last visit. Any that have, I then have to check to see if they have had more than the one post that shows on the main Forum page.
Just to emphasise I am not talking Unread Posts - I am talking Recent Posts

The Show All Unread Posts link I gave earlier (shown above) was incorrect.
To remove 'Jokes Board' posts flooding the 'Show All Unread Posts' list only, do the following:

(this will mark all posts in the joke board as "Read")then, go to:
https://community.gaytor.rent/index.php?action=unread;all;start=0

The Show Recent Posts link displays time-dependent information unaffected by the Read/Unread statuses of posts, so you're correct in saying that the filter I have proposed for users of the Show All Unread Posts link would not apply to use of the Show Recent Posts link.

The simplest way to solve this would be to simply exempt the "Jokes" board from the SBP 'Bonus' and to make it not show up in anyone's recent posts list. Then anyone who decided to "Flood" another forum for SBP simply gets banned from earning SBP period. I like the Jokes… but I agree it becomes quite the pain when someone posts 200 to 300 topics in an hour just for SBP.

I would suggest making a time limit between posts. Some forums will allow you to post only once in a two minute time frame. Most of the joke post are posted under a minute a part. But yes, if don't pay SBP for the jokes board that would also stop it, but then for the same reason why pay it for the game board and how many other boards can the same thing be said about. But the idea of the SBP is to encourage people to post in the forums.

I thought the spammers had gone away.
20 pages of spam in one day by one poster is completely unacceptable. Completely screws the Recent Posts for the rest of us.
Are there no 'joke sites' that they can go and pester?
